Security Services Secretary Farid Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury and Brij Raj Sharma, special secretary to the Indian home ministry, signed a revised travel arrangement in Dhaka on Sunday after a meeting.

“We discussed all the issues. We will resolve any problem through discussion,” Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said.

Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh headed a nine-member delegation to the meeting.

India has already been giving five-year multiple entry tourist visas to Bangladeshi citizens aged above 65.

Singh and Khan on Saturday inaugurated an integrated visa centre at the Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka, said to be the largest Indian visa centre in the world.

To mark the inauguration, Singh presented a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa to Mohammad Nazrul Islam under the freedom fighter category while Khan presented a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa to Amal Chandra Natta under the senior citizen category.

As many as 1.4 million Bangladeshis visited India in 2017—the largest number of visitors from a single country. There are 12 visa centres in Bangladesh, which is the highest India has anywhere in the world.
