Her Majesty, Queen Magareth 11 with President Nana Addo

Your High Majesty Queen Magareth 11 of Denmark, please welcome to your former Colony, the Gold Coast, now Independent Republican Ghana.Welcome to your Entourage too.We hope that you are emotionally touched by your presence in the Old Colony and that you will find enough time to meet your former Servants and visit some places.May the Lord keep and guide you during your short but cherished visit.Your former Servants thank you dearly for coming.

Your High Majesty, your visit is significant for your Royal Kingdom and Ghana.Your Kingdom's colonisation of the Gold Coast and the subsequent Slave Trade saw many of our people forcefully and inhumanely transferred to your country and other countries in Europe,America and elsewhere.Your Kingdom indeed played a great part in the humiliation of our people. Our ancestors helped in the building of your Kingdom and other countries. It is true that you later played a rôle in the Abolition of the obnoxious Slave Trade, still you had for all these centuries not taken your responsibilities as far as your brutal rôle in the then Gold Coast, Ghana, was concerned.Denmark has indeed over the years contributed to the development of Ghana in modern times but she has to pay more for her historic past .

It is significant that your Kingdom has apologised to Ghanaians through your Minister of Foreign Affairs ,Anders Samuelson, for the atrocities your ancestors committed. It means you have regretted your past misdeeds. You have shown a lot of remorse.I know the people of Ghana will accept your deep expression of regret.Ghanaians are a God- fearing people who easily forgive though they cannot easily forget.

Your Majesty, your visit is a manifestation that your Kingdom and the Republic of Ghana will continue to deepen the very cordial relations between our two countries.Ghana has done a great deal by giving her people to help in the building of your country and you will reciprocate in kind. Our leaders you will meet will tell you what Ghana needs but I would humbly appeal that you help us in the areas of Education, Health,Roads,Railways, just to mention a few because I know we cannot heap all our problems on you.

Finally,Your Majesty, before I wish you goodbye,I would plead with you to tell our President to look at your beautiful Kingdom , Denmark, and build Ghana likewise. He must fight corruption in Ghana and punish anybody who would be found embezzzling state funds to which your Kingdom may be a contributor.

Your Majesty,I would humbly thank you and wish you and your entourage a safe journey back to your beautiful Kingdom.

Your's Sincerely,
James BAFFOUR AMOATENG
