Hamas hails Algerian call for Palestine to be central Arab issue

August 15, 2017 at 10:31 am

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has hailed the Algerian Foreign Minister’s call for Palestine to be the central Arab issue, Quds Press has reported.

Abdelkader Messahel made the call at the end of his regional tour, telling journalists that “united Arab efforts [are needed] to support the Palestinian people” and return the issue to centre stage.

In response, Ozzat Al-Reshiq of the Hamas Political Bureau said that the Algerian position is based on the historic support of the Algerian people for the Palestinians and their hope to liberate their land.

“The Arab and Islamic nations have been and will continue to be the strategic depth of Palestine and the Palestinians,” he insisted. The Palestinians, he added, would be able to confront the Israeli occupation with united efforts backing their resistance efforts.
