Two years ago, Maverik – Adventure’s First Stop and its parent company, FJ Management, entered into an agreement to buy Kum & Go.
Since then, they have been rebranding all 400 Kum & Go stores across 13 states—now, it is Northeast Arkansas’ turn.
The first Kum & Go store in NEA to be rebranded is in Bono.
Kum & Go on Highway 63 in Bono is closing at 6pm on Thursday and will reopen as Maverik on Tuesday, July 29 at 6am.
All other Kum & Go locations across NEA will be rebranded in the coming weeks.
Some people around Bono and Jonesboro told Northeast Arkansas News that they were excited about the departure of Kum & Go as it will bring something new to the cities.
Kum & Go is a family-owned convenience store chain that was founded in Iowa in 1959 and began operating as Kum & Go about 16 years later.
This purchase is expected to make Maverik one of the largest convenience and gas station chains in the country, with over 800 locations across 21 states.
The full rebrand is expected to wrap up over the next few weeks, so don't be surprised if your next pit stop looks a little different.
