      A group of thrill-seekers took fundraising to new heights Saturday by rappelling down the side of an eleven-story building to support local children and families in crisis.The event, known as "Over the Edge," combines adventure with advocacy. Since its launch in 2022, the fundraiser has raised more than $90,000 for Easterseals Vermont, a nonprofit organization that provides essential services to families facing trauma, separation, or abuse.Each participant committed to raising at least $1,000 to earn their spot on the ropes, with all proceeds going directly toward family counseling, case management, and youth support programs.Susan Reed, senior director of Easterseals Vermont, said, “It's not something you see every day, people coming off the building, and it's a little bit scary, and it's really fun to watch. And we have a fun ground party going on down there. We have bubbles and face painting and music and food by donation.
