RANGERS are closing in on a deal for Thelo Aasgaard.
SunSport understands the Norwegian international is set for a medical ahead of his proposed move to Ibrox.
The 23-year-old midfielder, one of Russell Martin’s top targets, would become Gers' fifth summer recruit.
Max Aarons, Joe Rothwell and Emmanuel Fernandez have all checked in, along with pre-contract signing Lyall Cameron and now Aasgaard, who only moved from Wigan to Luton in January, looks set to follow as the new Rangers regime ramps up its recruitment drive.
The Liverpool-born star shone for Shaun Maloney to earn his mid-winter switch to Kenilworth Road.
But the Hatters’ plunge into League One will see him move on, with Martin keen to add the Anfield academy graduate to his attacking options.

Leicester’s Conor Coady remains a target at the back, with £10million Wolves defender Nasser Djiga also on the radar for a loan deal.
It’s understood talks have already taken place with the ex-Red Star Belgrade man — who has eight caps for Burkina Faso — over a season-long switch from Molineux.
Martin is likely to hand debuts to his new arrivals in Sunday’s Ibrox friendly against Club Brugge.
Scotland defender John Souttar is likely to miss out as he recovers from post-season groin surgery.

Gers will then head to a pre-season camp at St George’s Park to hone their prep for the Champions League second qualifying round first leg against Panathinaikos on July 22.
Coaches Mike Williamson and Sal Bibbo have also now joined Martin’s backroom staff as part of the summer shake-up.
Ex-Newcastle centre-half Williamson has had spells as manager of Gateshead, MK Dons and Carlisle.
Former Arsenal goalkeeping coach Bibbo takes Allan McGregor’s spot after his role in Barry Ferguson’s interim regime.
Martin said: “I’m delighted to have Mike and Sal join.
“I played with Mike at Wycombe Wanderers, so we go back a long way, and I know the qualities he can bring.
“He played at the very top level and is an experienced coach, having been a manager himself.
“Sal also has a lot of experience and a strong track record of developing goalkeepers.
“After speaking to him it was clear his knowledge and character will be a real asset.”
Meanwhile, back-up keeper Kieran Wright, 26, has signed a one-year extension at the club.

Wright, who has been at Gers since 2016, spent the second half of last season on loan at Airdrie.
He’ll work with first-team keepers Jack Butland and Liam Kelly, as well as teen hopeful Mason Munn.
