NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - From riverfront fireworks to community service and concerts, southeast Louisiana is celebrating the Fourth of July with a full slate of events.

In St. Bernard Parish, the 41st Annual 4th of July Festival and Fireworks Show kicks off at 5 p.m. at the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center grounds in Chalmette. The fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

New Orleans will once again host Go 4th on the River, with fireworks launching at 9 p.m. along the Mississippi River near Jackson Square. Organizers recommend parking along the riverfront. Tickets are available for premium viewing from nearby paddle boats and the rooftop of Vue Orleans.

Fireworks are illegal to set off within Orleans Parish, but public shows are happening across the region.

In Mandeville, the lakefront fireworks begin at 8:45 p.m.

Shows starting at 9 p.m. include Olde Towne Slidell, Thibodaux’s Peltier Park, and the New Orleans Riverfront.

Essence Fest 2025 continues through Sunday. This year coincides with Essence Magazine’s 55th anniversary and features concerts at the Caesars Superdome. Friday’s headliners include Maxwell, Babyface, and GloRilla.

Saturday’s lineup features Jill Scott, Jazmine Sullivan, and Patti LaBelle. Sunday wraps with Boyz II Men, Master P’s farewell show, and Nas.

Daytime events at the Convention Center include empowerment seminars and a marketplace of Black-owned vendors and businesses.
