TRUMBULL, CT — A "bold new arcade concept" created for adults from iconic chain Chuck E. Cheese recently opened at the Trumbull Mall, according to parent company CEC Entertainment.

Spokesperson Alejandra Brady confirmed in an email to Patch this week the company's Fun Spot Arcade, which opened at the mall back in September, has been rebranded as "Chuck's Arcade" as of June 27.

Designed as "a modern-day love letter to the games and people who made Chuck E. Cheese great," Chuck's Arcade combines classic games and the hottest new games alongside iconic animatronic characters, according to a news release provided by the company.

The new arcade concept was created "for adults and lifelong fans who grew up surrounded by the electric glow of arcade screens, the symphony of digital soundtracks and the thrill of chasing high scores with friends long into the night," the release notes.

According to Brady, CEC tested different variations of the concept over the past several months to better understand guest response and operational performance.

Based on those learnings, the company moved forward with the Chuck's Arcade brand as the official direction for this format, Brady said.

"After months of testing and refining the concept, we're excited to officially launch Chuck's Arcade at Trumbull Mall," Brady said in an emailed statement. "This new format lets us connect with longtime fans and introduce a new generation to the fun, featuring today's most popular games alongside a curated mix of retro favorites."

In addition to Trumbull, Chuck's Arcade locations are currently open in major malls across the country in New York, New Hampshire, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri, with more locations on the horizon, according to the company.

The mall's website still currently lists the arcade as the previous Fun Spot concept.

Its hours are listed as Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
