LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - More than half a million dollars’ worth of hard drugs will not be making it onto the streets due to a bust at one of the Laredo ports of entry.

The seizure took place on Friday, June 27, at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge when a Toyota Sienna was referred for secondary inspection.

After an inspection, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and a canine unit discovered 14 packages containing nearly 60 pounds of methamphetamine among the driver’s personal belongings.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $513,000, and Homeland Security is currently investigating the case.
