Currently, Utah’s left-wing position features names like Michael Carcone, Lawson Crouse, and Matias Maccelli.
With the No. 4 overall pick in the first round, the Mammoth picked center Caleb Desnoyers. At No. 46, they selected defenseman Max Psenicka.
Utah also holds the 110th, 142nd, and 174th picks in this year’s draft.
About Stepan Hoch
Hoch is a left-handed winger, originally from Czechia.
At 6-foot-4 and 192 pounds, Hoch tallied 29 points (12 goals) for Czechia’s U20 squad. He is known as more of a defensive forward who makes a big impact on the penalty kill.
As most picks are after the lottery, Hoch is a project. He is the second Czech player drafted by Utah in 2025. The Mammoth’s second-round selection, Psenicka, was also born in the country but currently plays for Portland in the Western Hockey League.
At 18 years old, Hoch will have a few more years to develop overseas with HC Motor České Budějovice.
