China’s BYD laid the cornerstone of a HUF 32bn expansion at its electric bus manufacturing base in Komárom (Northwestern Hungary) on Friday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said the government was supporting the investment, which would create 620 jobs, with HUF 3.1bn. He added that capacity of the base would triple to 1,250 vehicles a year and a test laboratory for R+D would be set up.
