SCENE. GUYS, THIS FIRE SPREAD TO TWO DIFFERENT BUILDINGS. NOW. THE FLAMES WERE SO INTENSE BEFORE FIREFIGHTERS GOT HERE THAT SOME PEOPLE WERE JUMPING FROM SECOND STORY WINDOWS JUST TO ESCAPE. WHEN I OPENED MY FRONT DOOR, ALL I HEARD WAS YELLING AND SCREAMING. SOMEONE CALLED 911. HELP US! SMOKE COULD BE SEEN FROM MILES AROUND THE METRO AS TWO APARTMENT BUILDINGS BURNED NEAR NORTHWEST 82ND AND WESTERN. WE HAD A LADY JUMPING OUT OF THE WINDOW, A KID JUMPED OUT THE WINDOW, AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WAS JUST ALL IN FLAMES. BLACK SMOKE EVERYWHERE. AMANDA SAYS SHE COULDN’T JUST WATCH. SHE CHOSE TO HELP. SHE TOLD ME SOME FAMILIES IN THOSE APARTMENTS HAVEN’T LIVED THERE MORE THAN TWO MONTHS. I DID ACTUALLY ASSIST THE LADY FROM THE WINDOW AT TOP TO GET DOWN. SHE JUST DIDN’T WANT TO JUMP. WE DID HAVE A TOTAL OF FOUR INJURIES ON SCENE. WE HAD THREE PEOPLE THAT JUMPED FROM THE SECOND FLOOR. A HARROWING SCENARIO, BUT FIREFIGHTERS WERE ABLE TO CONTAIN THE BLAZE QUICKLY AND NO ONE DIED. THE THIRD VICTIM WAS CAUGHT BY A PERSON ON THE GROUND AND THEY ARE IN A GOOD CONDITION AND WAS EVALUATED AND RELEASED ON SCENE. WHILE THE INVESTIGATION WILL DETERMINE ALL THE DETAILS, SHIFT COMMANDER DAVID SHEARER SAYS ONE BUILDING IGNITED THE BLAZE BEFORE IT SPREAD TO A SECOND ON THE PROPERTY AND IT SPREAD FAST, CAUSING A PARTIAL ROOF COLLAPSE ON THE INITIAL BUILDING. WHEN WE ARRIVED, WE HAD HEAVY FIRE IN THE ATTIC FROM THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK OF THE BUILDING. OKLAHOMA CITY FIRE HAS UPDATED SOME OF THEIR INFORMATION. THEY NOW SAY FIVE PEOPLE WERE INJURED, PLUS A FIREFIGHTER MAKING SIX TOTAL. THERE WERE 12 UNITS THAT WERE BURNED IN THIS FIRE AS WELL
