MANILA – Vietnam ruled the 2025 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup through a dominant 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 sweep of Alas Pilipinas in the gold medal match on Saturday night in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen top-scored for Vietnam with 20 points, including 16 attacks, while Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Nguyen Thi Uyen chipped in 17 and 10 markers, respectively.

The host squad took control early in the third set with a 3-0 lead and never looked back, despite a brief fightback from the Filipinas who trimmed the deficit to 14-20 behind points from Shaina Nitura and Canino.

But Vietnam shut the door with five straight points, powered by Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, to seal their third consecutive gold medal in the annual competition.

Alyssa Solomon paced Alas Pilipinas Women with eight points — all on attacks — while Nitura contributed six markers, all in the third set. The silver medal marks the Philippines’ best finish in the tournament after bagging bronze last year.

Meanwhile, Negrense Canino retained her Best Outside Spiker award after ranking 12th in scoring with 74 points, coming from 62 attacks, seven blocks, and five service aces. She averaged 12.33 points per match.
