The Idaho State Police has identified a motorcyclist who fled from troopers twice during a high-speed incident last week.

ISP says they have identified the suspect after a large number of tips came in from the public, leading to the man turning himself in Friday afternoon. ISP is filing criminal charges through the Ada County Prosecutor's Office.

ISP reported originally on June 6 that shortly before 2:00 p.m., a black Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle was seen traveling at over 100 miles per hour westbound on I-84. The rider failed to yield when an ISP trooper attempted a traffic stop. A trooper further down the highway attempted another stop with the rider, who again fled, this time at speeds over 150 miles per hour.

“We’re thankful for the public’s engagement, including the spirited comments we saw on social media,” District 3 Captain Michael Winans said. “People are fed up with this type of dangerous riding behavior, and I think it directly contributed to the high number of tips we received. Motorcycle riding comes with responsibilities, and we’ve seen far too many dangerous incidents lately. Reckless riding isn’t only illegal, it has become a significant threat to the safety of both riders and the public. We appreciate those who stepped up to do the right thing and help us move this case forward.”
