The 6-foot-6, 286-pound transfer will have three years of eligibility remaining.
McKenzie redshirted as a true freshman in 2022 during then-Washington State defensive coordinator Brian Ward’s last season in Pullman. Ward now serves as the defensive coordinator at Arizona State.
While making his collegiate debut, McKenzie then suffered a season-ending leg injury vs. Northern Colorado in Washington State’s first game of the 2023 season.
He then played in two games during the 2024 season, appearing in the season-opener against Portland State and in the Holiday Bowl vs. Syracuse. He totaled 33 snaps last season.
After starters CJ Fite and Jacob Rich Kongaika, and Oregon transfer My’keil Gardner (who missed most of spring with an injury), McKenzie is projected to be fourth on ASU’s depth chart among defensive tackles.
