Local politicians from County Donegal in the North-West of Ireland spent nearly $16,000 during a week-long junket to the United States.

The delegation and their spouses spent thousands of taxpayer’s money under the guise of trade and cultural meetups with the Irish diaspora in the US during St. Patrick’s week celebrations back in Mid-March.

Expenses included flights, train travel, gifts and hotel accommodation from 13-18 March.

Lawyers for Justice Ireland, a group of pro bono freedom loving Irish Lawyers committed to empowering people reacted online to the splurge by the small delegation.

“€14,000 of public money was spent on some of these treacherous Donegal County Councillors and their spouses to live it up in the U.S. for St. Patrick’s Day. There must be accountability. They have demonstrated clearly that they do not represent the vast majority of the people of Donegal.”

Poorly governed Donegal has changed in recent years due to mass immigration.

It’s largest town of Letterkenny otherwise known as ‘Little Somalia’ has felt the brunt of mass immigration in a short space of time.

A recent attack on a young native man in the town by foreign nationals highlighted the social upheaval in rural towns such as Letterkenny overcome by mass immigration pushed by local and national governments.

The father of the young man attacked and hospitalized by lawless foreigners, Tony McDaid, told Highland Radio that the group of men told his son “This is our town , we own it now” as they kicked him.

In a show of strength, local people in Letterkenny organized a large protest recently over the continued reckless and illegal immigration policies imposed by the Dublin centric Irish government.

Over a thousand proud Donegal men and women marched against the new dangerous plantations in their town and county.

The Burkean which is an online publication run by conservative university students in Ireland covered the patriotic protest and fiery speeches in Letterkenny.

They reported: “The organizers stressed that what was happening in Letterkenny is ‘a local issue but it’s also a national issue’ and continued: “We cannot let them divide us. Our energy must be directed at the government, not at the people. It’s the government that’s implementing all the legislation; we should all be quite wealthy if we’re paid decent wages but we’re not. We’re here about the migration problem, the mass immigration into this country, which is destroying it, we all know the story.”

Out of touch Donegal council fresh from their gallivanting in the States released a statement before the huge protest in Letterkenny.

The council tried to gaslight the people of Donegal by saying that the county should always “uphold the values of kindness, fairness ,and unity that define Donegal.”

The statement added that: “Donegal is a county where everyone belongs. We are committed to integration, inclusion, equality, and respect for all communities. Through our Black and Minority Ethnic Inclusion Strategy, we send a clear message: there is no place for hate here — only welcome, respect, and a shared sense of community.”

On the ball Lawyers for Justice Ireland reacted to the weak statement by Donegal Council by saying:

“The audacity of 37 Donegal County Councillors, taking it upon themselves to furtively conduct a secret discussion purposefully muted from the public, to issue a statement against Saturday’s scheduled protest in Letterkenny and the right of Irish citizens to exercise their right to free assembly and expression, is astounding. Just who do they think they are? They have shamelessly issued “a plea” to people “to ensure that Donegal remains a place where everyone feels safe and valued”.

“This is how politically skewed and utterly disconnected these people are from the people in Donegal, because as we all know, “everyone” does not apply to the people in towns and villages in Donegal who DON’T “feel safe and valued”, who have consistently been labelled and bullied into silence, and who have simply had enough. At whose behest did these councillors call for an “emergency meeting”? What right do they think they have to issue a statement that has the intent of bullying the people of Donegal? Do they not know that they have a legal obligation to be transparent and impartial, free of bias, and at all times to serve the people of their County?”

A Doge type clampdown on councils in Ireland and the wider political spectrum in Ireland is urgently needed to highlight the daily corruption, grubby deals and nepotism that is alive and well in Ireland.

The lavish trip to the US is only the tip of the iceberg in Ireland regarding money squandering.
