The State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics, together with the United Nations Development Program, held a series of working meetings in the area of developing a financial account in accordance with the international standards of the System of National Accounts of 2008.

The meetings were held as part of a joint project to promote the strengthening of the institutional and statistical capacity of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics. Representatives of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, the Central Bank of Turkmenistan and other relevant agencies of the country took part in the discussions.

In her presentation, international expert Peprone Margaryants noted that data on economic sectors, based on reporting and statistics of the external sector, play a key role in constructing a financial account.

Participants studied in detail the methodological approaches, data sources and analytical capabilities associated with financial account compilation.

Such working meetings of financiers are intended to help improve the quality of statistical data, which, in turn, will allow for more accurate assessment and monitoring of economic, monetary and financial processes in the country.
