Ontario International Airport (ONT) in California, US, has announced the opening of Mi Casa Cantina restaurant in Terminal 4 (T4).

The opening of Mi Casa Cantina is a direct result of a partnership established last year between the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) and SSP America.

Mi Casa Cantina will offer ONT travellers a wide array of Mexican cuisine options, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The restaurant menu offerings include salsas and salads, alongside a selection of quesadillas, bowls, burritos, guacamole, and Mexican small-plate dishes.

The agreement with SSP America is anticipated to generate approximately $66m in non-aeronautical revenue for the OIAA over the initial 20-year term.

It is anticipated that this income will improve airport operations, help lower landing fees and other airline expenses, and eventually improve ONT’s overall customer experience.

OIAA chief revenue management officer Elisa Grey said: “We are proud to partner with SSP America in this critical part of the ONT travel experience.

“These enhanced concessions delight travellers with a variety of food and beverage options, providing jobs for local residents and generating millions of dollars a year in revenues to support ONT’s mission of connecting people and places.”

Other new restaurants that ONT has added recently are Einstein Bros. in T4 and Pizza Vino in T2.

The airport also noted that renovations at Urban Crave in T4 and Tap & Pour in T2 are also underway.

Furthermore, the OIAA’s Revenue Management team has attracted brands such as Chick-fil-A, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Brewery X to the airport.

SSP America regional vice-president Oscar Hernandez said: “ONT is one of the fastest-growing airports in the US, and the SSP America team led by our director of operations Tina Dungan is delighted to be part of the airport community.

“We fully support the airport’s efforts to elevate the culinary programme with memorable experiences for travellers to enjoy before their departure.”
