Armenian MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan has reacted on the statement of the European External Relations about the so-called rocket attack of the city of Ganja.

According to her, for three weeks now, Azerbaijan has been brutally shelling cities and villages in Artsakh, including the capital Stepanakert, deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties and forcing them to flee their homeland. Moreover, Azerbaijan has already struck and caused damage to the civilian population and infrastructure on the territory of Armenia. The current large-scale aggression was preceded by provocative campaigns of Azerbaijani disinformation, including the so-called campaign on the artillery shelling of the city of Ganja by the Armenians.

For decades, Azerbaijan has fed its society with hatred and Armenophobia, as evidenced by videos of torture, inhuman treatment, and murder of Artsakh prisoners of war, which Azerbaijanis proudly disseminate on local social networks. By spreading groundless accusations, Azerbaijan refuses to comply with the ceasefire agreements concluded with the mediation of the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, and, wishing to continue the war, categorically rejects any possibility of using mechanisms to verify compliance with the ceasefire regime.

The European Union has not yet been able to clearly and unequivocally respond to all these war crimes committed by Azerbaijan with the direct participation of Turkey, including the transfer of armed terrorists from Syria and Libya, ignored the threat to the existence of the people of Artsakh, gross violations of their right to life and the developing humanitarian crisis in Artsakh. Armenia condemns this unilateral and biased statement, which gives Azerbaijan the green light to continue with impunity for violations of international law, including international humanitarian law and customary international law.
