RED WING — A program examining the post-Civil War action of Minnesotans in regard to a resurgence of white supremacy will be presented at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Goodhue County History Center, 1166 Oak St., Red Wing.
"The Mixed Legacy of Minnesota's Lincoln Republicans During War & Reconstruction" will be presented by William Green, a professor of history at Augsburg College and vice president of the Minnesota Historical Society. Green will profile four prominent Minnesotans of the time.
Green has written two books about race and civil rights in American history.
The program is in commemoration of Black History Month.
