Singapore, Qatar sign several bilateral agreements

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (KUNA) -- Singapore and Qatar signed on Tuesday a number of bilateral agreements, part of the Asian tour by Amir Of Qatar Skeikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Sheikh Tamim met with Singaporean President Halimah Yacop in the Presidential Palace before meeting with Prime Minister Lee Hasien Loong, media report said.
The two sides signed a number of bilateral cooperative agreements in the legal, commercial, educational and training sectors, including an agreement to promote and protect mutual investments.
On their part, Singapore's Civil Service College signed an agreement on development cooperation with the staff of the Qatar Investment Authority.
Another agreement on judicial cooperation was signed between Singapore Supreme Court and the Supreme Judicial Council of Qatar.
Qatari Amir arrived in Singapore yesterday as his second Asian stop after Malaysia, heading to Indonesia, the last stop of his Asian tour. (end) aab.nhq
