Eight brands have been selected to take part in the final of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers which will be held on September 10 at the Louis Vuitton Foundation.

At the semi-final of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, twenty young designers were selected among over 2,500 candidates, who presented their collections to the Prize Experts and the public.

The eight finalists are Aubero by Julian Louie, United States, menswear; Duran Lantink by Duran Lantink, Netherlands, womenswear, menswear and genderless collections Hodakova by Ellen Hodakova Larsson, Sweden, womenswear; Marie Adam-Leenaerdt by Marie Adam-Leenaerdt, Belgium, womenswear; Niccolo Pasqualetti by Niccolò Pasqualetti, Italy, genderless collections; Paolo Carzana by Paolo Carzana, United Kingdom, womenswear and menswear; Pauline Dujancourt by Pauline Dujancourt, France, womenswear and Standing Ground by Michael Stewart, Ireland, womenswear, the company said in a press release.

The jury will choose among the finalists the winner of the LVMH Prize, the winner of the Karl Lagerfeld Prize and, for the first time, the winner of the Savoir-Faire Prize, a distinction that rewards excellence in craftsmanship, technical innovation and the sustainable approach of the brands selected. This year’s jury includes Jonathan Anderson, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Nicolas Ghesquière, Marc Jacobs, Kim Jones, Stella McCartney, Nigo, Phoebe Philo, Silvia Venturini Fendi and Pharrell Williams, as well as Delphine Arnault, Jean-Paul Claverie and Sidney Toledano.

“The semi-final of the 11th LVMH Prize highlighted the diversity and richness of the candidates’ creative approaches. The semi-finalists showed great expertise in terms of craftsmanship and a strong commitment to sustainability. The finalists’ designs range from entirely hand-made collections to eveningwear and included upcycled designs. Furthermore, two former semi-finalists of the Prize, Duran Lantink and Niccolò Pasqualetti, have reached the final. I am very grateful to the Experts for their involvement in this event. Finally, I’m delighted to welcome Phoebe Philo and Pharrell Williams to our remarkable jury. The jury and I will be joined by the eight shortlisted designers at the final on September 10 at the Louis Vuitton Foundation,” Arnault said.
