Aidarbekov holds bilateral meetings with Estonian and Dutch FMs

Bishkek, Dec.6, 2019. /Kabar/. On the margins of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Cooperation and Security in Europe (OSCE) in Bratislava, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov met with Foreign Ministers of Estonia Urmas Reinsalu and Netherlands Stephanus Blok.

The Kyrgyz and Estonian foreign ministers discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda, as well as the organization of mutual visits scheduled for 2020.

Noting the IT sphere is an important direction of bilateral cooperation, Aidarbekov and Reinsalu discussed the existing Estonian projects in Kyrgyzstan, as well as possible new projects as part of the implementation of the Tunduk electronic interaction system.

During the meeting with the Dutch FM, the topical issues of the bilateral agenda were discussed.

Chingiz Aidarbekov and Stephanus Blok noted the importance of expanding the legal framework between the two countries, and the need to organize mutual visits at different levels to activate bilateral relations across the entire spectrum of cooperation.

The sides highlighted the importance of the visit of the agricultural trade mission of Netherlands to Kyrgyzstan's capital city of Bishkek on Oct. 15-17 this year, as well as the work of the round table, held at the meeting.

There was an exchange of views on the issues of regional and international agenda, an agreement was reached to maintain a dialogue on the issues of mutual interest.

On Dec. 5-6 this year, the 26th OSCE Ministerial Council is held in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The Kyrgyz Republic delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov, is taking part in the work of the meeting. Chingiz Aidarbekov is expected to address the Council, as well as to hold a number of bilateral meeting with the OSCE management and heads of delegations of the OSCE member states.

The Ministerial Council is the central decision-making and governing body of the OSCE. The meeting, held annually, provides the Foreign Ministers of the 57 OSCE participating States an opportunity to review and assess the Organization’s activities and strengthen the dialogue on security issues in the OSCE area.
