After Sunday's rest day, the team from New Caledonia will start the second week of the Pacific Mini Games on top of the medal table with 24 gold, nine more than Fiji in second place, and ten ahead of Samoa and Papua New Guinea, while the host nation Vanuatu are in fifth spot with eight gold medals.
Joanna Lester, from the Vanuatu 2017 reporting team, tells Richard Ewart that one of the highlights of the weekend was in rugby sevens, when Tonga missed out on the final, but did enough to secure a precious place at the World Cup in San Francisco next year.
